In collaboration with a local architect we prepared a landscape masterplan to support our client’s bid for the lease of the Takapuna Camp Ground in Auckland.
With the site being located on the waterfront the masterplan concept was inspired by maori weaving patterns. Vehicle circulation was designed to allow guest vehicles to enter past a newly developed entrance office building, leading to series of camper parks and accommodation buildings.
Each set of two camper parks is separated with a hedge and lawn to provide privacy and green space. Working with the architect we arranged a series of accommodation buildings inspired by traditional kiwi bach architecture and boat sheds.
Our client was awarded the lease and is now operating the camp ground with plans to develop the site in stages.
